Video footage of
SLIPKNOT/
STONE SOUR frontman
Corey Taylor talking to the U.K. branch of
Roadrunner Records about his forthcoming Christmas single entitled
"X-M@$" can be viewed below.
"X-M@$" will be released on December 12 in aid of the
Teenage Cancer Trust. Fans will be able to pick up the single from all leading digital retailers, including
iTunes,
Amazon and
Play.com.
"It's actually a song that I wrote four years ago just for a laugh,"
Taylor told
Kerrang! magazine "But when I played it for all of my friends they were like, 'This is fucking brilliant'. For some reason my manager forgot that I'd written it, but then a few months ago he found the song and immediately went, 'We gotta release this in time for this Christmas', and I was like, 'Why the fuck not?'"
According to
Oblioo.com,
Corey recorded the track on a day off during
STONE SOUR's recent U.K. tour at
Metropolis Studios in Chiswick, West London.
"I wrote this song in my kitchen one winter, listening to people bitch about the holidays,"
Taylor explained. "Personally, I love the holidays, but they seem to bring on severe stress in most people. So, I wrote this in honor of crotchety, drunken bastards who don’t know the difference between a yuletide and a toolshed. Plus, I think it's funny. I bet the U.K. will too. They're some of my favorite people in the world."
STONE SOUR,
AVENGED SEVENFOLD and
HOLLYWOOD UNDEAD will join forces for
"The Nightmare After Christmas" tour in January/February.
STONE SOUR's third album,
"Audio Secrecy", was released on September 7 and debuted at No. 6 on the
Billboard album chart, selling 46,000 copies in its first week of release.
