MÖTLEY CRÜE Kicks Off Las Vegas Residency; Video Available - Feb. 4, 2012
MÖTLEY CRÜE recently became the first hard rock band to sign a short-term residency at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

The CRÜE kicked off a three-week series of four-night concerts a week at the off-Strip casino last night (Friday, February 3), with dates scheduled to run through February 19.

Commented MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx: ""First shows are always cool 'cause they're not perfect and sometimes it feels like the band and crowd are surfing the chaos together.

"We had so much fun last night.

"Back to rehearsal today to work on some more stuff we're adding tonight. So excited for tonight; so many of our friends showing up. Maybe we should pull someone on stage to jam?"

A review of the performance can be found at LasVegasSun.com.

Fan-filmed video footage of last night's concert can be seen below.

Speaking to USA Today, MÖTLEY CRÜE singer Vince Neil said the show will be more of a spectacle — "something we could not do on a regular tour" when sets have to be put up and pulled down every night. There will be nine dancers, aerialists, plus "a lot of songs MÖTLEY hasn't played in many years," according to Neil, including "Piece Of Your Action".

Neil, guitarist Mick Mars, bassist Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee have big plans for Mötley Crüe In Sin City to create a never-been-done-before and incredibly interactive Vegas experience.

Said Neil, "A lot of the perception is that musicians go there to die ... 'Oh, you guys must be ending your career.' " In reality, Vegas is a happening place where "you can be so creative."

Went to opening night and it was good not great, the band sounded better than ever and even Vince sounded pretty good. But over all I didn't think the show was that special, I would recommend going if your a fan. The hype over it made me expect more theatrics and I don't think they really delivered on that aspect of the show to well.

Once again the Nikki Sixx hype machine fails to deliver....didn't go but it doesn't look much different than a normal Crüe show....what happened to, "this will have things we couldn't do on a normal tour". How much were the tickets?

Quite the butchering of TFFL, but good on them for throwing in some lesser played stuff.

Vince actually sounds reasonably good. Shocking.

The stage looks too similar to the tour they just did...maybe there were more theatrics at other points during the show.

Anybody have a full setlist?

Wow, it's so "interactive". That was nothing like a regular band playing on a stage with a bunch of lights. What an amazing 3D audio visual experience!!!

Time to hang it up. I've seen them twice within the last 3-4 years and all I can say is that they better leave out any song where Vince has to hit a high note. He cannot do it anymore.. at all...

I'm glad I never wasted the money going to see this Vegas show. Same set list, same stage stunts, same same same. Nothing new. After all the hype of this being something different and unseen before and it ends up being the same old crap. Exactly the same as the last tour, same set list as the last 3 tours. WTF????? What a waste.

So the whole "interactive" and "creative" thing is just a bullshit cash grab. Guess it's an opportunity to see them in a smaller venue than usual, that's about it.

Checking the secondary market like stub hub and the prices are nothing special. The way to see how a tour/concert is selling just check the secondary market...... its all supply and demand. Right now you could wait and hour before the show and get GA for less than 100 bucks. Like most shows in Vegas its a lot of comp tickets.
