KENZINER: 'The Absolute Best Of' Collection Available - Feb. 6, 2012
Leviathan Records has just released a best-of collection from the progressive power metal band KENZINER, entitled "The Absolute Best Of".

KENZINER features the soaring vocals of Stephen Fredrick (who went on to front FIREWIND and KINRICK) and guitarist Jarno Keskinen. Jarno wrote the amazing music that went perfect with Stephen's powerful-yet-melodic vocals. This collection features the best tracks from the band's two releases, "Timescape" and "The Prophecies".

Producer David T. Chastain states: "Jarno wrote some of the best music in metal. It is too bad that Jarno and Stephen did not record longer together as I am sure their 'magic' would have continued to produce more classic metal music."

It is rumored that Jarno and Stephen have been writing new material together, although this has not been confirmed.

I discovered this band already back in 1998 when the debut album "Timescape" was released. KenZiner is astounding, unique-styled band with a lot of variety. Sure, there's your YJM lightning speed and soaring neo-classical melodies...but Iäm not thinking about my hero YJM while I listen to KenZiner, I think about how great KenZiner is in its own right. Jarno Keskinen is an amazing guitarist, he also had the project band called Virtuocity. The first album "Secret Visions" features the vocal talents of Peter James Goodman and none other than Marco Hietala (Tarot, Nightwish). The second album "Northern Twilight Symphony" features PJG only.

Good to hear some news of KenZiner, one of the greatest bands from Finland.

I think this is a good release. The 2 albums are not the most available albums in the market. And if this compilation heralds a whole new album with Stephen Fredrick on vocals, all the better.
